JANET MARTIN (Iowa Housewife; Soap Star) Janet’s history with MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL® began in 2006 with the original Toronto company and continues to this day. Janet is now a proud producer and founder of Shaggypup Productions. Together with partner, Mark Zimmerman, they have been touring MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL® across Canada since 2016. As a writer and producer of original works, Janet co-wrote and produced many concerts and cabarets, including THREE LITTLE MAIDS for Soul Pepper Cabaret series, and A BROADWAY VALENTINE which was presented by the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. During her years as an actor, Janet spearheaded many charitable events raising thousands of dollars for various worthwhile organizations. As a veteran actor of the Canadian theatre scene, Janet has played many roles and worn many hats. Favourite parts include Grizabella in CATS, Christine in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Cossette in LES MISERABLES and ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. She has been a member of both the Shaw and Stratford Festival companies and has performed in every major theatre in Canada. Janet has also toured North America in HMS PINAFORE and played Yum Yum in Brian Macdonald’s THE MIKADO which had a 6 week run on Broadway. Janet also worked in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore for extended periods of time in various shows and as a voice over artist.”
